"My grandfather's Seiko 5 had not been opened since the 1980s. I was told honestly that it would take three weeks and cost the full service price. It did — both things. The watch now runs within a few seconds a day, and the written report they gave me is something I will keep with the piece."

Piyanat Thongpan

"Very straightforward experience. I brought two quartz watches in on a Tuesday morning; both were ready by Wednesday afternoon. The battery in one had leaked slightly — they noted it on the card and explained what to watch for. No drama, just honest work."

Nattawee Ruangrat

"I came in expecting a quick battery job on a vintage Citizen. They looked at it and told me the movement needed a proper service first — the cell alone would not fix the rate issue. I appreciated that they told me before taking the job rather than after. The full service took just under four weeks."

"My father left me a pocket watch from the 1960s. I knew nothing about its condition or value. Cogwell examined it, explained what they found, and produced a restoration plan with a clear price. The photographic record they provided is extraordinary — before and after, and the stages in between."

"I have been a local customer for three years now. Battery changes, a service on my husband's automatic, and most recently a vintage piece that came back looking exactly as it should — aged, but running. They never oversell. They tell you what is needed and what is not."

"Parts for my 1972 Longines took nearly eight weeks to source — they contacted me at the four-week mark to let me know what was happening and ask if I wanted to proceed. I did. When the watch came back, it was running within three seconds a day. Worth waiting for."

Three Jobs, Start to Finish
Case Study — Mechanical Service
An Omega Seamaster That Had Not Been Opened Since 2007
Challenge
The movement had been running without a service for seventeen years. Rate had deteriorated to losing around eight minutes a day. The owner wore it regularly and wanted it serviceable again.
Approach
Full strip-down, ultrasonic cleaning, fresh lubrication throughout, reassembly, and regulation across five positions over three days on the timing machine. One worn part replaced.
Outcome
Rate stabilised to +4 seconds per day in the crown-down position. Watch collected with written report and returned to daily wear. Turnaround: 22 days.
Case Study — Vintage Restoration
A 1965 Swiss Pocket Watch Inherited from a Collector's Estate
Challenge
The movement was mechanically stopped. Case showed surface oxidation but no serious damage. The heir wanted it running without losing the original finish and character.
Approach
Full movement overhaul. Case cleaned and stabilised — no polishing. A cracked mainspring replaced with a period-appropriate part sourced from a supplier in Switzerland after six weeks. Photographed at intake, part-way, and completion.
Outcome
Watch running within acceptable vintage tolerance. Original case patina fully preserved. Full photographic and written record delivered alongside the piece. Turnaround: 9 weeks.
Case Study — Battery Replacement
Two Quartz Pieces Brought in for Routine Cell Changes
Situation
Both watches stopped within the same week. Owner wanted same-day service if possible. One had a minor gasket issue we observed during intake.
Approach
Both cells replaced with specification components. Gasket in the first watch replaced at the same time; basic water resistance check performed on both after resealing.
Outcome
Both watches ready the same afternoon. Written condition note for each. The gasket issue was noted and explained to the owner — no charge above the standard service price. Turnaround: same day.
