These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Cogwell ("we", "us", "the workshop") and any person ("you", "the customer") who brings a watch to us for work or submits an enquiry through this website.
By leaving a watch with us or submitting a service request, you indicate that you have read and understood these terms. If anything here is unclear, we are happy to discuss it before any work begins.
1. Our Workshop
Cogwell is a watch repair workshop located at 9 Charoen Krung Road, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500, Thailand. We carry out repair, servicing, and restoration work on quartz and mechanical timepieces. We operate Monday to Saturday, 10:00–18:00, and are closed on Sundays and Thai public holidays.
2. Accepting Work
Before we begin any work, we will inspect your watch and provide a written estimate of the work involved and the likely cost. Work begins only once you have reviewed and agreed to this estimate.
For vintage timepieces, full costs may only become clear during disassembly. If our findings during work lead us to revise the estimate, we will contact you before proceeding further.
We reserve the right to decline work we consider beyond our scope or unlikely to produce a satisfactory result for the customer.
3. Turnaround Times
Estimated turnaround times are given in good faith based on the nature of the work and parts availability at the time of intake. They are not binding commitments. Our three service categories carry the following typical ranges:
BATTERY REPLACEMENT & WATER-RESISTANCE CHECK
Same day to two working days, depending on parts availability.
MECHANICAL MOVEMENT FULL SERVICE
Two to four weeks, including timing observation after reassembly.
VINTAGE TIMEPIECE RESTORATION
Six to ten weeks. Timelines may extend where original parts must be sourced from specialist suppliers.
We will update you if a significant delay arises. You may contact us at any time to ask for a progress note.
4. Pricing and Payment
Our standard service prices are:

Prices are stated in Thai Baht and include VAT at the applicable rate. If additional parts or work are needed beyond the scope of the original estimate, we will quote these separately before proceeding.
Payment is due on collection of the watch. We will let you know which payment methods are accepted at the workshop.
5. Care of Your Watch
We handle every watch with the attention and care appropriate to its nature and value. We carry professional indemnity coverage for watches in our custody.
Where a watch has existing damage or wear that is unrelated to the work requested, we will note this at intake. Our responsibility covers only the work agreed upon and does not extend to pre-existing conditions.
For vintage restoration work, we will seek your guidance on any decisions that affect the original appearance or character of the piece before acting.
6. Parts and Materials
Where replacement parts are required, we use components appropriate to the watch and the work. For vintage restoration, we will make reasonable efforts to source period-appropriate parts, but these are not always available and we will discuss alternatives with you where necessary.
Removed original parts are returned to you upon request, unless disposal is preferable or impractical due to their condition.
7. Collection and Unclaimed Watches
We will contact you when your watch is ready for collection. Watches should be collected within 60 days of the completion notice.
After 60 days, we may charge a modest storage fee. After six months without contact from the customer, we reserve the right to treat the watch as abandoned. In such cases, we will make reasonable attempts to reach you before taking any further step.
8. After the Work Is Done
If you have a concern about work carried out by us, please contact us within 30 days of collection. We will review the concern carefully and, where the issue relates to work we performed, we will address it without additional charge.
This does not apply to issues arising from accidental damage, misuse, or wear and tear after collection.
9. Website Enquiries
The contact form on this website is for general enquiries only. Submitting a form does not constitute an agreement or booking. Work begins only after a watch has been brought to the workshop and an estimate has been agreed in person or in writing.
10. Privacy
Information you provide is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. We process personal data in accordance with the Thai Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019).
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be referred to the courts of Bangkok.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Any revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date. The terms that apply to work in progress are those in effect at the time the work was agreed.
