Why Cogwell
The Difference Is in
How We Approach the Work.
Straightforward pricing, correct materials, and a written account of every job. These are not exceptional claims — they are simply the way watch repair should work.

Six Things We Do That Matter
Assessment Before Agreement
We examine the watch and explain what we find before any work begins. You decide what to proceed with.
Transparent, Fixed Pricing
The price you are quoted is the price you pay. No add-ons, no surprises at collection.
Correct Parts Only
Manufacturer-specified cells for quartz; sourced period components for vintage. We wait for the right part rather than fitting a near-enough substitute.
Written Condition Notes
A written record accompanies every completed job — what was done, what was found, and any observations worth noting for the future.
Realistic Timelines
Same-day to two days for quartz. Two to four weeks for mechanical. Six to ten weeks for vintage. We give honest estimates and hold to them.
Patina Protected
On vintage work, we do not buff away what decades produced. Cleaning and stabilisation only — unless you specifically ask otherwise.
Professional Expertise
Watchmakers Who Have Seen a Broad Range of Movements
The Cogwell team combines over twenty-five years of collective watchmaking experience. Our lead watchmaker trained in Chiang Mai and has handled Swiss automatics, Japanese quartz movements, and manual-wind pieces from across the mid-twentieth century. Our restoration specialist trained formally in Switzerland before returning to Bangkok to focus on older timepieces.
Between them, they have opened movements from dozens of makers — which means fewer surprises when your watch arrives, and a clearer understanding of what it needs.
- Swiss and Japanese movements serviced
- Formal horology training in the team
- Vintage Southeast Asian-market pieces understood
- 25+ years combined workshop experience
- Timing machine for multi-position regulation
- Ultrasonic cleaning for movement parts
- Pressure testing equipment for water resistance
- Photographic documentation system
Equipment
The Right Tools in the Right Hands
We run timing machines, ultrasonic cleaning equipment, and pressure-testing instruments appropriate to the work we do. These are not decorative — a timing machine gives us objective data after each regulated service, and we do not sign off a mechanical job until the watch is running acceptably across multiple positions.
Customer Service
You Are Told What Is Happening, and When
Anan, our workshop coordinator, handles all customer communication. If your watch has been in for longer work and something changes — a part is delayed, or we find something unexpected — he contacts you before proceeding. You are not left wondering.
When you collect your watch, a written note goes with it. It says what was done, what was found, and anything you should know about the piece going forward.
- Intake condition note on every watch
- Contact before any unexpected work proceeds
- Written completion note at collection
- Response to enquiries within one business day
All prices fixed. No surcharges at collection.
Pricing
A Fixed Price Before You Commit
Our three services are fixed-price. You see the figure before agreeing to anything. Nothing is added at collection unless you asked for additional work during the job — and even then, that is discussed with you first.

What Makes Us Different
Distinctive to Cogwell
Bangkok's Antique Quarter
Our Charoen Krung Road address places us in the district where Bangkok's specialist craftspeople have worked for generations. The sourcing networks, the shared knowledge, and the professional community that surround us are not replicable in a shopping mall.
Vintage Parts Network
Years of restoration work have given us contacts among parts dealers across Asia and Europe. When a vintage piece needs something obscure, we have places to look that most generalist repairers do not.
Photographic Documentation
Restoration jobs receive a full photographic record — before, during, and after. This is unusual. Most workshops do not do it. We do it because the record has real value, whether for insurance, for resale, or simply for your own knowledge of the piece.
Payment on Collection Only
We do not ask for payment until you collect the watch, inspect it, and are ready to take it home. This is a simple arrangement that puts the obligation where it belongs — on us to do work you are satisfied with.
